はるかな昔のこと、ラモシャという国がルミアの幸福もまだ存在して いないころ。天地万物も何もかも存在してない以前に、アンと多くの時代に呼ばれた唯一、永遠、超越している者がおられた。アンの前に存在しているものはな く、アンはいつもおられたのでいつまでもとこしえにおられるからである。アン以外、有の以前に無であった。でもアンは無から有を創造された。

ルマカサハラかルミアと人 間がその地を名づけた。地の間中に庭があった。ガンと呼ばれた。ルメネーリ達はそう呼ばれたからである。ガンの周りに平原と山と森が多かった。そして、そ の間に様々な人種が住んでいた。ルマカサハラという大陸を超えた所は誰も知らなく誰も居住していない。でも、それにもかかわらず、世界の全体は名付けられ た。その名はエレストである。すべては調和で生きていた。すべては美しいであった。すべては今の人間達の望んでいる天国のようであった。嫌な事は何も無 かった。

Welcome to this world of my imagining. It is a world full of great heights and great depths. There are times when this world sparkles with beauty, and there are times when its hues all fade to black. Yet even when my world is the blackest night I know there is a light, a light that will never go out. I would like to invite my viewer into this world. I want to show you this place I know so well. That is my purpose with these paintings. I looked into my mind and I found a world, a world I then sculpted and gave substance, even if only in my mind. That world could not be empty. It needed people to live in it, people and creatures to experience it. So I designed characters, and brought my imaginings to life, and as these characters bloomed I realized all the more that these characters were in many ways shades of myself. It was through them that I saw, now more clearly, this world inside my head. Thus I have taken up the task of showing you this world, but not simply by giving you a map or some sort of landscape of it, but I have chosen to do portraits of its inhabitants, so that you can come to see it through their eyes. Through these characters I hope to show you the full spectrum of this world's heights and depths, its tints and shades, its joys and its sorrows, but not without the ever present hope - the glimmer of light - that shines even in the darkest places and will never be snuffed out.
